It always takes me a lot of time to remember people's names including their pets' names. I'm just one of those who is naturally born - never good with names... XD I memorize things by memories. The more times I share with someone the more I'll remember everything about them including their names. Otherwise, it will be just some Deja Vu feelings I get when I meet them next time. Because men are sissies... in my lovebird colony. :D The females are like amazon women, very fierce and much stronger. So, for example, if I need to clip Pence's nails, he will hide behind Papao because he knows Papao will make a stand and bite me. Pepe has learned the advantage of being a sissy and copied his dad's attitude fast. Moral lesson: Don't be an ass to your bird, they'll learn from you and return it double! FYI, red dragon fruit juice is very deep and rich in color. It will stain anything white with bright neon pink. Try it with your birds & let me know how they react, k? XD

LOL, this comic is based on the fact that most people will talk to their parrots but they probably will just whistle or make gibberish sound trying to mimic their own finches or canaries. :D I talk to both my lovebirds and finches/sparrow but well since I'm not much a talker anyway, none of them talk, except Pepe that can say his name and mimic Pipi's calling chirp. What about you and Life with Birdshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17045987415807487072noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5381087627669212625.post-34453293904814231512016-05-09T19:03:00.000+07:002016-05-09T19:59:53.461+07:00Insomnia
Real story of my life as an artist and a bird mom. My sleeping clock is chaos so I usually have to take a nap to get some sleep quota my body needs. My birds are not cockatoos or macaws, but 12 small birds can make a good mix of scream and fighting sound that will wake me up. My lovebirds, for example, will not poop in their sleeping cages so they need to release their morning bombs in Life with Birdshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17045987415807487072noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5381087627669212625.post-25316948468408005782016-04-18T16:13:00.000+07:002016-04-18T16:17:08.079+07:00Chicken porridge
Pocky warned me on the last second. :D
Finches' poopoo sometimes can be so deceiving... XD I've never eaten bird's poo thanks God, but maybe some particles of it, lol, who knows! It's hard to keep everything clean for more than 5 minutes when birds are around. Bird parents know what I'm talking about! :D

No, you will not say finches are lame, Pepe! Not the finches we know anyway. :D The 4 terrorists, the hornball prince and the yakuza nanny are just too awesome to be called lame. Here are reasons why finches are awesome sauce: First, just like you, Pepe, they can bond with their humans, play with toys, cuddly and eat very much the same food. 2nd, and the greatest thing is, theyLife with Birdshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17045987415807487072noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5381087627669212625.post-33107705740625963392016-03-14T09:27:00.001+07:002016-03-14T12:24:01.795+07:00Diet
I like salads, just not carrots! Raw carrots is EEW... unless it's blended with other fruits into smoothie... My finches don't like raw carrots either. Only my lovebirds and sparrow eat their carrots.
What about you and your birds? Do you eat your carrots? :D

It almost sounds like one of my favorite songs: "You are always on my mind... You are always on my mind." But, well, if we think our pets like our own kids... this can't be helped. :D And I believe this happen on both parents, not just moms, but dads too! Any bird dads here want to verify this? :D However, bird moms must have the bigger heart conflict in this case. Ya know, moms need Life with Birdshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17045987415807487072noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5381087627669212625.post-89959256072905455872016-02-02T04:00:00.000+07:002016-02-17T15:47:27.022+07:00Peekaboo!
Not all flight birds will be willing to mimic our words, parrots and not. So, better keep this in mind when you want to adopt a bird. The best way to make a bird talk is if it's the only bird at home. A bird is a social animal, and without another species of its own to socialize with, it will bond faster with its human and learn to talk as a way to communicate with the human. So, yeah, even a Life with Birdshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17045987415807487072noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5381087627669212625.post-72517094109951724242016-01-14T02:04:00.000+07:002016-01-14T02:21:29.540+07:00It's not funny!!
One day when I wanted to change the paper on Chopchop's poopoo tray, I brought Chopchop, my 1 foot sparrow, to my PC room and left him there with Peanut and Pipi who usually play in my working room from morning to afternoon. Once I had changed the paper & returned to my room to get Chopchop back to his cage, I saw those 2 boys facing each others quarreling on my drawing tablet just like onLife with Birdshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17045987415807487072noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5381087627669212625.post-62685580099770554142016-01-05T08:25:00.001+07:002016-01-05T08:37:40.070+07:00Who are you?!!
Seriously, ever since Chopchop became a member of my family, I have often walked around my house in just t-shirt and panty. He's very picky with what I wear. I have to buy a dozen of plain red t-shirts because he likes red best for tops. He will freak out if he sees me wearing anything else, even a red t-shirt with a white text on the front is still a no-no. There are few short pants that he Life with Birdshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17045987415807487072noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5381087627669212625.post-11827429151289754302015-12-23T16:07:00.003+07:002015-12-23T16:26:04.171+07:00Sprout killers
On
the previous comic strip, we have talked how important it is to check
bird poops daily, I can even tell whose poop it is because of this. Now,
to make sure birds will poop something normal, they must eat normal
healthy food too, not just seeds and pellets but also fresh veggies and
fruits.
Problem
is birds are picky eaters. And the problem will become harder if you feed birdsLife with Birdshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17045987415807487072noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5381087627669212625.post-12414239118475540432015-12-18T17:44:00.000+07:002015-12-18T18:12:57.015+07:00Poop examiner
Today topic is birdie poop! Disgusting? :D Aaw, you must be a newbie with birdies! Over the years, you'll get used to it! Thanks God I don't use photos but just drawings here so I hope we can continue talking about the wonderful world of poo-poo! :D

Would you eat what your birds regurgitate for you? Those slimy peeled seeds with whatever fresh chop they ate before? :D It's known as a loving and sometimes sensual gesture to regurgitate food in bird society. What, you feel disgusting with the barf...?? Oh, if you only knew how much Peanut wishes Pipi could barf on him at least once in a life time. Lol, I hope you like today comic. :D Now, about the story behind....
If you are the bird person in your family, the one that takes care of the birds, you must be familiar with the body language of your birds, the sound they make and each of their unique characteristics. You probably need to keep telling your family members and friends who like to interact with the birds, the do's Life with Birdshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17045987415807487072noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5381087627669212625.post-4571047416790271532015-10-25T06:39:00.001+07:002015-11-11T17:23:14.838+07:00After two years
Today, 2 years ago, Pocky flew to the rainbow bridge, taking a big piece of my heart that could never be recovered, refilled, back to its original shape with anything, anyone. I carve a pumpkin lantern for him every October. In 2013, 2014... and now. So sometimes, just counting from the pumpkin, it seems like he's been gone for 3 years instead of 2.
I know some of you are still mourning over Life with Birdshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17045987415807487072noreply@blogger.com15tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5381087627669212625.post-63770238933417762372015-10-08T16:50:00.001+07:002015-10-08T16:53:39.239+07:00Heavenly talk
Lol, don't argue with God! That's the point of this comic. I don't know know why he sent me Chopchop to take care of when I have already had 11 feathery pycho kids. Maybe he wants to give another chance to take care a very special kid like Pocky was. Well, whatever His plan is, it'll be better than my own. I just have to have this faith that He'll make everything beautiful in time and I'll see Life with Birdshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17045987415807487072noreply@blogger.com18tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5381087627669212625.post-16649324531761562882015-09-17T18:16:00.000+07:002015-10-08T16:47:43.266+07:00Suck it up!
Chopchop is right! I just have to suck it up and be a big girl I am! My sprained and scrapped right hand from a motorbike accident is nothing compared to what he has gone through (infected right calf with broken bone, popped out ankle and it was untreated long enough that makes his right foot dried from gangrene....). Hehehe :D have you said something "wrong" in front of your birdies?
This scenario is actually for Peewee, because he's the one that enjoyed being cuddled on his back, not Pocky. Pocky was a very ticklish bird but not exactly a cuddle bug, a hornball more likely, lol. :D Peewee is 3 years old this month and Pocky too, who was just a week youngest. Some of you who follow me on FB and Tumblr know that I rescued a wild sparrow fledgling last month. His left foot up to 1/3 of his tarsal has dried up (gangrene) and the calf was infected from wound that looks like it was caused by a fiber or something like that wrapped around it. He might have trashed around when his left leg was trapped, dislocated his left knee and tightened the fiber knot Life with Birdshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17045987415807487072noreply@blogger.com12
