Pepe and Pellets

How to introduce pellets to parrots. Read bird webcomic drawn in yonkoma manga comic strip style. It can be funny, sad or heart warming. Art by Emmil Thomas.

Lol, does this comic remind you of your own experience introducing pellets to your birds? :D When I heard that there was finally a Zupreem pellet agent/ supplier in my country, I thought, well, let's order one can and see if the birds like it. So while waiting for the package arrive, I imagined Pepe who is picky with food would be likely to reject it first. I drew this comic draft giggling from too much imagination playing in my head. But to my surprise, Pepe ate the pellets without any problems. It was as if he had been eating pellets his whole life before. It was an irony that he actually was the only one that would eat the pellets without even getting suspicious first. :D I still finished the draft because I think some of you will have a good laugh reading this one. Share my comic with your friends if you think they'll love it too! Thanks! Note: all my birds eat pellets without problems now. They still have fresh food, cuttle bones and seeds on their diets.

  1. Wow that is almost the same with my bird. Here in America, all bird food comes with pellets so that way birds aren't on a seed only diet (its bad for them to be on a only seed diet). So my lovebird only eats the seed and only and only eats the pellets if we hand feed it to her lol And she seems to only hand feed when we give her veggies and rice too but she loves those more than the pellets ( i can totallly see why XP)
If you try mixing the pellets with his other food, im sure he wont notice it and will try it :)
Best of Luck, Keep Up the Great Work, and Peace be with You!!

  3. Keiji only eats pellets if you crack them into tiny pieces and hand feed them to him XD (the pellets I used to buy were specially for cockatiels, but I think them were too hard to chew, lately the same brand makes them more easy to break) I haven't feed him rice, can any bird eat rice? Is it cooked rice or raw?

    1. The rice is cooked and you can mix it with chopped veggies, fruits, oats and pellets too, ofc :)
