Description

LIFE WITH BIRDS is a web-comic strip about living with pet birds. The story can be funny, sad or heartwarming. It's a mix between personal experience and wild imagination of my life as an artist and a bird parent. All the characters in my comic are based on the real birds that I have/had. New comic is released once in 2 weeks here. Special bird comics (full page, several pages long) are posted on my Patreon for patrons only.

Poop examiner

Bird web comic strip in yonkoma format
Today topic is birdie poop! Disgusting? :D Aaw, you must be a newbie with birdies! Over the years, you'll get used to it! Thanks God I don't use photos but just drawings here so I hope we can continue talking about the wonderful world of poo-poo! :D

If you like to let your birds out of cage for some exercising, flying and cuddling time, you must be aware how many poops they drop at significant time. After picking up poops for years from my drawing table, my cloth, my hair, and every where my flocks have gone too, I can't help but notice the different size and unique shape of my bird poops. I can recognize whose poop this is by looking at the size and appearance. I even can't help but admire some that resemble Easter island statues! Lol, I guess this thing alone make me deserved to be called a crazy bird lady, huh? :D

Some of you might have known the fact that a bird poop could tell you a lot of how healthy your bird is, especially the digestive tract. You can tell if a bird has diarrhea, internal bleeding, dehydration, lacked some nutrients, eggs (for hens), worms and other diseases just by examining poop daily. Since birds like to hide their illness until it's too late... it's important to be able to tell any slightly minuscule change on your birdie poop. So start training your eyes by checking your bird poop every day if you haven't been doing it! :D

Do you have some funny bird poo-poo related story that you can share with me? Go ahead write it on the comment below! Thanks for reading my comic today and don't forget to subscribe if you haven't. Link to subscription is on the right top of this blog. See you on the next comic!! ^_^/

  1. My poop story is one time my older brother went to talk to one of our budgies (I forget which one) who was hanging onto the side of the cage on the inside, then next thing we know, the bird projectile pooped onto my brothers face! It was hilarious XD

    1. Lol, you should tell your bro that birdie poop is good for his skin. It's a fact that beauticians have used bird poops to be a part of facial mask mixture.... :D

  2. Not long after I got Storm, I was lying on my bed and he hung onto my glasses. Before I knew it, he pooped right into my mouth! I've made sure not to have THAT happen again!

    1. My friend on FB had similar accident and she actually tasted it. She said..."Bird poo doesn't taste that bad... it's kind of earthly taste... with a hint of nut..." What do you think? :D

  3. Yes, we do get so used to them.
I remember being out shopping and there was this lady looking at me strangely. She came over and said, I think you have bird poo on your shoulder. She was even more surprised by my reply, "Probably so".

  6. Chirpy would poop in a food bowl to mark it as hers as Jerry would bother her when she was eating and then feed from it after he had pushed her away. Chirpy would move to the other food bowl and eat from it and then Jerry would move there as well to bother her. Chirpy's habit still remains and now and then will still poop in the food bowl just before I get up despite Jerry's passing. When I started giving them pellets she would poop in the bowl with pellets in them no matter where I put the bowl.

    1. Birds often poop on wherever they like to perch, including their food/drink bowl rims :D
